Perfect World multibox party: classes, roles and combo setup

A 6-account Perfect World party: Barbarian, Cleric, Wizard, Archer, Blademaster and Venomancer. What each class does, who leads, what goes in each combo.

Published on · 6 min read

To build a Perfect World multibox party, the recipe barely changes from server to server: a tank to hold the mobs, a healer to keep everyone alive and the rest dealing damage. On a 1.2.6 or 1.3.6 server, with the game’s original 6 classes, that makes a neat party of 6: Barbarian, Cleric, Wizard, Archer, Blademaster and Venomancer, one of each. You play the leader, and the other five accounts do their part.

The 6-class party, class by class

Class Role in the party Why
Barbarian Tank The game’s tank class: lots of HP and defense, and tiger form raises both.
Cleric Heals and buffs The main healing class, with buffs for the whole party. Low HP: it stays at the back.
Wizard Ranged magic damage Big damage, little HP: it dies fast if a mob reaches it.
Archer Ranged physical damage Hits from a distance, with low defense.
Blademaster Melee damage Good damage up close, with plenty of area skills; holds up as a backup tank.
Venomancer Magic damage and pet Fights with a pet at its side and stacks debuffs; one of the best solo classes.

These roles are what PWI players’ guides and forums agree on: the Altered Gamer class guide, a class rundown on Steam (2016) and a thread on MMORPG.com (2009), read on October 19, 2026. Rates, version and balance change from server to server: each class keeps its role, the numbers don’t.

Who leads

The leader is the account you play by hand. In PW Overlay, it’s the first one on the panel list: move characters up or down to change it.

Playing the Barbarian as leader has a practical upside: you pull the mobs and choose where the party fights, and the secondary accounts only need to hit and heal. They take the repetitive part, and that’s where combos come in.

What goes in each combo

In PW Overlay, each account has its own combo: a sequence of keys from F1 to F12, each with a wait before the next one. The combo repeats for as long as you pick (30 s, 1 min, 5 min, 15 min or until you stop it), and Alt+X starts and stops it on everyone. Combos are Premium.

  • Barbarian (leader): no combo. You play it.
  • Wizard, Archer and Venomancer: their damage skills on the F bar, in the order you’d use them, each with a wait equal to the time the skill takes to go off on your character. Start with 2 or 3 keys, test with 2 accounts and add more.
  • Blademaster: the same, but it has to stand right next to the mob. Where following the leader is forbidden, park it close to where you pull.
  • Cleric: healing is a call you make in the moment, so it stays with you: click its name on the panel and the game jumps to its window. In the combo, at most one buff with a long wait. Party buffs work better through Buff everyone (Ctrl+Shift+9), which presses the buff key on every account.

Before Alt+X, leader assist (Ctrl+Q) makes every account target the leader’s mob, if your server allows it. On The Classic, creating the party, buffs and the leader’s target aren’t on what rule 2.2.5 allows: use them only with written permission from the staff. For it and Buff everyone to work, tell the app under Settings, in Game keys, which bar key holds the assist action and which one holds the buff, and use the same keys on every account. If your PC struggles with 6 windows, see how to keep background windows from freezing.

Rules that change the party

The same party plays differently from one server to the next:

  • The Classic (Brazil): combos only in PvE, with you at the PC (rules 2.2.5 and 3.1.4), and following the leader is forbidden. Creating the party, buffs and the leader’s target aren’t on what rule 2.2.5 allows: only with written permission from the staff. The party stays put and you pull: Wizard, Archer and Venomancer, who hit from range, get more done than the Blademaster. The Classic rules, read on October 19, 2026.
  • PW Avalon (Brazil): since October 15, 2026, multibox characters can’t share the same target in PvP. Nothing changes in PvE.
  • Map limits: on Heaven Perfect World, Palace of Nirvana takes 2 windows, so a party of 6 can’t go in whole. Check the limit on the Heaven Perfect World page before taking the party there.

What each server allows, with the source of every rule, is in is multiboxing allowed in Perfect World?, in Perfect World auto follow: where it’s allowed and in the server list.

Servers with more classes

From 1.4.x on, the game has more classes and the 6-account party gets variations. The base stays the same: a tank, one or two healers and damage.

  • 1.4.2 and 1.4.4 (10 classes): the Assassin, with high single-target damage and stealth; the Psychic, with ranged area damage and debuffs; the Seeker, sturdier than the damage classes and good at area damage; and the Mystic, with strong single-target heals but weaker group heals and buffs than the Cleric. The Mystic can be the party’s second healer. That’s the case on The Classic PW 1.4.4 and on Heaven’s 1.4.6 world; what changes in the client is on the version 1.4.6 page.
  • 1.5.x (the exact version they arrived in isn’t certain): the Duskblade, similar to the Assassin, and the Stormbringer, a ranged caster that can move while attacking. See the version 1.5.5 page.
  • 1.7.x and 1.8.x: the Technician, Edgerunner, Wildwalker and Bard arrive. We didn’t find a solid source on each one’s party role, so we won’t guess: ask on your server’s Discord.

The roles of the newer classes come from the same Steam rundown (2016).

From zero to a ready party

  1. Open and log in all 6 accounts: the step by step, with and without a tool, is in the multibox guide.
  2. Put the Barbarian first on the panel and form the party with Shift+Home (party on one key). Creating and disbanding the party use the leader’s window for a few seconds: the app brings the leader to the front, types the names and clicks. Wait until it’s done before you touch the mouse or keyboard.
  3. Set up each secondary account’s combo as above and test with 2 accounts before turning it on for all.
  4. Before using the party, buffs, leader assist, follow or repeat sequence, check what your server allows in the server list.

PW Overlay is free for opening and logging in every account: download PW Overlay free and build your party.
