Perfect World auto follow: where it’s allowed and what to use instead
Auto follow with a tool is banned on The Classic (rule 3.1.4) and no server on our list allows it in writing. PWI, Heaven and the rest, and what to use instead.

Perfect World auto follow with a tool, every account trailing you on one key, is banned on all three versions of The Classic (rule 3.1.4), and no server in our database allows it in writing. On PWI, Arc’s terms don’t mention following, but they ban third-party tools Arc hasn’t authorized. On most other servers the rules simply don’t talk about following: the staff decides, and it pays to ask first. Below, server by server: why so many ban it and what you can use instead without risking your accounts.
Following in the game vs. following with a tool
Perfect World has its own Follow: you select the other character, right-click its portrait and pick Follow, and yours walks behind it. One account at a time, no program needed: with a single account, it’s just a game feature.
With several accounts, “auto follow” turns into something else: a tool does that in every window at once, and your secondary accounts trail the leader across the map while you play only the leader. That’s what rules call a “mirror” program: one command of yours that moves or acts on several accounts at the same time.
Server by server
We read the official rules on October 17, 2026 (PW Avalon’s on October 18, 2026; The Classic’s checked again and Arc’s pages read on October 19, 2026).
| Server | Auto follow with a tool |
|---|---|
| PWI (Arc Games, official) | Not mentioned, but tools are. Section 16.1 of the Terms of Service (last updated May 14, 2025) bans software, “including but not limited to third-party tools”, that Arc hasn’t authorized and that influences the game. A tool that moves several accounts on one key falls there. |
| Heaven Perfect World (international) | We found no rule. The rules posted on the server’s Discord cover window caps per map, not programs: ask before turning it on. |
| The Classic PW 1.2.6, 1.8.7 and 1.4.4 (Brazil) | Banned. Rule 3.1.4 bans “mirror” programs that follow a character, talk to NPCs or repeat an action on several accounts with one command. PvE combos are the exception. |
| PW Avalon (Brazil, 1.3.6) | No published rule. The server listed its own hotkey to “automatically follow the party leader” among planned features (beta note #1, October 5, 2026). Since October 15, 2026, multibox characters can’t share a target in PvP. |
| Meta PW (Brazil, 1.7.4) | The rules don’t say. Item 7.1 treats bots and modified clients as irregular. The client itself ships with leader targeting, according to the server page. |
| PW Elite (Brazil, 1.3.6) | The rules don’t mention following. Section 08 bans automation scripts and “abusive macros”, where a follow tool could land. |
| Requiem PW (Russia, 1.7.6) | Banned along with every program: rule 2.14 bans every third-party program except an autoswap and a box-opening clicker. Rules |
The summary for every server, with what each feature of a multiboxing app may or may not do, is in the server list.
Why so many servers ban it
The rules themselves give the reasons:
- One command, many accounts. The Classic calls a program that makes several accounts follow or repeat the same action with one command a “mirror” (3.1.4), and the same rule leaves PvE combos out. The target is the party walking by itself behind one person, not the combo.
- An advantage the game doesn’t give. PW Elite bans gaining an advantage through means the game or its panel doesn’t officially provide (section 08); Arc’s 16.1 bans tools that influence the game or give you an advantage.
- Fair PvP. When PW Avalon took the shared target away from multibox characters in PvP, it said the change aims for fairer, more balanced fights (October 15, 2026).
And in practice, following is the piece that drags the whole party across the map. Add an endless combo and you’re one step from farming with nobody at the PC, which The Classic bans in rule 2.2.1 and Arc’s Code of Conduct calls “unattended gameplay”.
What to use instead
Where following is banned or unclear, you can still play the whole party:
- Park the party and pull. Leave your secondary accounts somewhere safe and bring the mobs to them with the leader. Ranged classes get more done this way; which class does what is in how to build a Perfect World multibox party.
- Leader’s target, where it’s allowed. Every account picks up the leader’s target and the combo hits the same mob. On The Classic, it isn’t on what rule 2.2.5 allows: use it only with written permission from the staff. On PW Avalon, it doesn’t work in PvP since October 15, 2026.
- PvE combos with you at the PC. On The Classic, rule 2.2.5 allows automatic combos that simulate the manual one with the player present, and 3.1.4 leaves PvE combos out.
- The game’s own Follow, one account at a time. Rule 3.1.4 is about a program that does it with one command. Telling each account to follow by hand, window by window, is the game working as it always has. When in doubt, ask the staff.
- The server’s own feature. Meta PW’s client already has leader targeting, and PW Avalon announced a follow hotkey of its own. Use the game’s and leave the app’s off, so the command doesn’t go out twice.
In PW Overlay
In PW Overlay, follow leader and the leader’s target are Premium and have separate hotkeys: Ctrl+Shift+S to follow, Ctrl+Q for the leader’s target. Follow does exactly the game’s Follow in each secondary window, in the background, which is why it counts as one command for every account. The hotkeys come switched on: on a server that bans following, remove that one under Settings → Shortcuts (the × next to “Follow leader”) and everything else stays the same. The button on the panel stays: just don’t click it. The app recognizes The Classic 1.2.6 and shows on the server card what its rules ban, but you decide what to turn on. Follow leader and Repeat sequence: no server on our list allows those two in writing.
To switch accounts without alt-tab, the panel on top of the game jumps to each account’s window in one click, which helps with item 4 above: see the overlay and switching without alt-tab. And if your question comes before that, whether you may have several accounts at all, the answer is in is multiboxing allowed in Perfect World?
