Is multiboxing allowed in Perfect World? Each server’s rules

Can you multibox in Perfect World? What PWI’s Arc Games terms and each private server’s rules say about extra accounts, window limits and third-party tools.

Published on · 9 min read

Is multiboxing allowed in Perfect World? On most servers, yes: you can play several accounts, one client each, as long as you are at the PC playing them. Of the 17 servers in our database whose rules we have read, only PW Zenith bans more than one account in writing, and Requiem PW doesn’t mention accounts but bans every third-party program. On PWI, Arc Games’ terms set no limit on clients, but they ban third-party tools Arc hasn’t authorized. What changes from server to server is how many windows each map takes and what a tool may do on those accounts. Below is what each set of rules says, with the link and the date we read it.

Several accounts, auto follow and bots: three different things

Most “will I get banned?” questions mix up three things that the rules treat separately:

  • Several accounts (multiboxing): one client per account, every one of them played by you. Almost every server allows it. Without any tool, the way is in how to run 2 Perfect World clients.
  • Follow and repeat: one command makes every account walk behind the leader or repeat the same action. This is what shows up banned most often, and it has its own guide: Perfect World auto follow: where it’s allowed.
  • Bots: the character plays by itself, with nobody at the PC. Nearly every server bans it and punishes it hard.

Combos sit in between: a key sequence that runs while you play. The Classic allows them in PvE; other servers call them “abusive macros”. Bots, macros and combos, rule by rule, are in Perfect World bots: what each private server allows.

PWI (Arc Games): what the terms say

PWI, the official international Perfect World, is published by Arc Games. We read Arc’s pages on October 19, 2026:

  • Terms of Service, section 16.1 (last updated May 14, 2025): you may not use hardware or software, “including but not limited to third-party tools”, that Arc hasn’t authorized and that influences the game or gives you an advantage, including bots and any way of playing “without human input”.
  • Section 21: while you play, the game may check your PC’s memory and processes for unauthorized third-party programs and report them to Arc.
  • Section 6.3: you can’t use the service on more than one computer at the same time. It says nothing about several clients on one PC.
  • Player Code of Conduct (last updated June 25, 2019): it lists “utilizing third-party programs to automate unattended gameplay” as disruptive behavior, and a violation can mean a temporary suspension or the account closed for good.

So, on PWI, several clients aren’t banned in writing, but any multiboxing app is a third-party program: without Arc’s go-ahead, section 16.1 is the risk. The community wiki says up to 2 clients at a time (we read it on October 18, 2026), but it isn’t an Arc page. How to open the clients on PWI, Arc launcher included, is in the multibox guide.

Private servers: what each one says about several accounts

We read each server’s official rules on October 17, 2026 (PW Avalon’s on October 18, 2026; The Classic’s checked again on October 19, 2026). Rules change: open the link before you play.

Server What the rules say about several accounts
Heaven Perfect World (international, 1.2.6 and 1.4.6) Allowed, with a cap per map: 2 windows in Palace of Nirvana, Tournament and Warsong City, 3 in Valley of Reciprocity and 1 in Nation Wars. Rules on the server’s Discord
The Classic PW 1.2.6, 1.8.7 and 1.4.4 (Brazil) Allowed. Rule 2.2.5 allows programs that store accounts for quick login; 2.2.6 bans getting around the per-computer character limit in the dungeons, events and maps that have one. Network rules
PW Elite (Brazil, 1.3.6) Allowed. No window limit is written: several accounts or a virtual machine are banned only when used to dodge a limit or a penalty. Rules, section 08
PW Avalon (Brazil, 1.3.6) The staff talks about multiboxing without banning it. Since October 15, 2026, multibox characters can’t share the same target in PvP. Fixes and tweaks #3
Meta PW (Brazil, 1.7.4) The rules don’t say. They don’t mention several accounts; item 7.1 treats bots and modified clients as irregular. Meta PW rules
Perfect World Legacy (Brazil) The rules don’t say. The published rules mention no accounts, bots or programs. Rules
ComeBack PW 1.4.6 Main (Russia) Allowed, with a per-PC cap on some maps (2 windows in Nirvana, for example), listed in the server description; rule 14 bans getting around it. Rules, archived copy of February 10, 2026
Requiem PW (Russia, 1.7.6) No word on accounts, but no programs either: rule 2.14 bans every third-party program except two, an autoswap and a box-opening clicker. Rules
PW Zenith (Indonesia, 1.3.6) Banned: “Satu akun aktif per orang pada server standar”, one active account per person on the standard server. Terms

Having several accounts and running a program on them are separate rules: read both. The server list has each server’s version, status and rules summary, with what each feature of a multiboxing app may or may not do there.

Window limits: per computer and per map

When a server sets a limit, it usually sits in one of two places:

  • Per computer: how many characters from the same PC may enter a dungeon, event or map. On The Classic, rule 2.2.6 bans getting around it; on ComeBack, rule 14.
  • Per map: how many windows fit in each place. On Heaven, a party of 6 can’t enter Palace of Nirvana whole, since it takes 2.

A multiboxing app doesn’t count windows per map. Before you take the party into one of those places, check how many may go in.

What gets you banned even where several accounts are fine

Across the rules we read, four things show up banned almost everywhere, even on servers that allow several accounts:

  1. Playing without you at the PC: a program that hunts or gathers by itself. On The Classic, that’s rule 2.2.1; on PWI, the Code of Conduct’s “unattended gameplay”.
  2. One command for every account: following, talking to an NPC or repeating the same action on several accounts at once. On The Classic, that’s rule 3.1.4, which leaves out only PvE combos.
  3. Getting around a window limit: opening more characters than a map or event takes (The Classic 2.2.6, ComeBack 14).
  4. Tampering with the game: DLL injection, memory editing and packet manipulation (PW Elite, section 08), or a program that changes how skills work, like Skillsender (The Classic 1.8.7, rule 3.4.3).

And the penalty doesn’t stop at the account that broke the rule: on The Classic it can hit your IP, your The Classic ID and your HWID; on PW Elite, the account and the device. With several accounts on the same PC, that means all of them.

Multiboxing without being a nuisance

Rules are the minimum. What we recommend so your party doesn’t become the map’s problem:

  • Stay at the PC. Besides being a rule almost everywhere, it’s what separates multiboxing from leaving a bot running.
  • Don’t hold a spot or a boss with the whole party all day. Take turns and respect whoever got there first.
  • Extra care in PvP. That’s where multiboxing annoys people most: PW Avalon has already taken away the shared target in PvP, and on The Classic, a combo on several accounts with one command doesn’t count as PvE.
  • When in doubt, ask on the server’s Discord and keep a screenshot of the answer.

How to check on your server

  1. Open your server’s rules page (for the servers we’ve read, the link is in the server list; on PWI, the Arc Games Terms of Service).
  2. Look for four things: window limits (per PC or per map), third-party programs, combos or macros, and following or repeating actions.
  3. Nothing in writing? Ask the staff on the official Discord, or Arc support on PWI, before you use any program.
  4. Server not on our list? Ask for it at the bottom of the list itself, on the PW Overlay Discord or by email, and we’ll read its rules.

What about PW Overlay?

PW Overlay is a multiboxing app, and its free part is exactly what servers allow most: opening and logging in every account, the “programs that store accounts for quick login” of The Classic’s rule 2.2.5. Your passwords stay on your PC only. To the letter, it’s still a third-party program: on PWI, use it only with Arc’s go-ahead in writing.

Party, combo, buffs, the leader’s target and follow leader are Premium, and each one has its own hotkey, so you can use only what your server’s rules allow. In the app, every hotkey comes switched on: remove the ones your rules forbid under Settings → Shortcuts (the × next to each one); the button on the panel stays, just don’t click it. On The Classic, remove Follow leader and Record and replay actions (banned by 3.1.4) and, without written permission from the staff, Create party, Buff everyone and Leader’s target, which aren’t on what rule 2.2.5 allows. Follow leader and Repeat sequence: no server on our list allows those two in writing.

Buffs, the leader’s target, follow and combos go to the other accounts in the background. Creating and disbanding the party use the leader’s window for a few seconds: the app brings it to the front, types the names and clicks, so wait until it’s done before you touch the mouse or keyboard. The app doesn’t play by itself, doesn’t inject DLLs and doesn’t read or change the game’s memory; it sends keys and clicks through Windows’ own messages. All of that is in writing in our commitment. On PWI, mind that PW Overlay doesn’t support the official 64-bit client yet.
